The purple honeycreeper, although really looking blue, is one of our more vibrantly coloured birds here in Trinidad and Tobago. They can be found on both islands in forested areas and some gardens where they enjoy feeding from nectar laden flowers and, given the chance, hummingbird feeders. This little guy was busy in a Combretum (or Monkeybrush) bush in Brasso Seco and happily gave me the chance to catch him on the flower after waiting for quite a while!
